Are you including both Company Managed and Team Managed projects in the filter for this gadget?

If yes, be advised that the Statuses used in Team Managed projects are considered unique values, even if they are identically named as Statuses used in other projects. That would explain why the values are showing twice.

Then yes, each of the "duplicate" status are not duplicates - they're different things with the same display name.

Adding to the other answers, here is an open defect for that symptom, which you may watch/vote for to see progress: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRACLOUD-72282

There are several built-in dashboard gadgets which are impacted by this design choice for team-managed projects.

Possible work-arounds are to use/purchase other dashboard gadgets from the Atlassian Marketplace which can handle this situation, to use company-managed projects instead, or to report on the issue outside of Jira in a tool able to roll-up the results.
