I am trying to design and implement a workflow that incorporates the multiple parties involved in work related to Device Management Program (DMP) and automated device enrollment in general. I have /DMP admin access, and I understand that we are limited to a specific set of templates. One of my former team members reviewed the options and selected the one that seems like the closest fit for us - but honestly, it would work so much better for us if I could make some tweaks that support our desired processes.
Are there other options within Jira that we could migrate that would give us the ability to customize the ticket types, required fields, and workflows?
Hi @Vara Prasad , in my honest opinion, you should explain your desires to your local Jira administrator.
The administrator is responsible for Jira and its users. He makes choices for the good of both.
You are responsible to not ask the impossible and accept that there can be a bigger picture behind the choices your admin has to make.
All in good harmony and understanding,
Kind regards,
Dick
Hi @Vara Prasad,
We have no access to your environment from the Atlassian Community. We are users trying to help with best advice, but cannot intervene in your Jira instance. So I would recommend to remove the link to your site from your question, since this is a public forum, open to the world.
You mention that you have admin to your project, but workflows in Jira Data Center are managed centrally by one/more Jira Admins inside your organisation. If you want custom processes implemented, the first step would be to share your intended design and requirements with your internal Jira Admin(s), as they they are the one(s) with the necessary permissions (and hopefully also skills) to built the process for you.
If your organisation lacks the skills or time to do this for you, you can also consider reaching out to an Atlassian Solution Partner near you. These companies specialise in providing (commercial) services to help you implement best practices.
Hope this helps!
