Hi!,

I've just installed Jira in my organization, and created a single user, which is the administrator. I have configured jira to use my own mysql database which is in the same server.

At first, evertything seemed to go fine: I could create projects, add new issues, add comments, add attachments,...

Then, I tried to access other functions from the header links, such as manage users.

My user belongs to the following groups:

jira-administrators
jira-software-users

but if I try to access an administrative function, I am prompted to enter my password again. I enter my password, and then, without any error message, I am redirected to the same page again, to enter the administrative password again...

And I can'tgo beyond that page.

This is my only user, so I can't see many options here.

Am I missing something to enable access to administrative funcions or something like that?

thanks,

Juan

@syderitAs you  are the admin  i  suggest you  reset password via user profile  and  try to access administrative functions again.

Hello Moses, thanks for your quick reply,

unfortunally changing the password did not help.

However, I have been able to fix the problem creating a jira-config.properties file in my jira-home folder (/var/atlassian/application-data/jira/)

and setting the property:

jira.websudo.is.disabled = true

Then, after restarting the jira service, I can access administrative functions without entering the password.

For now it's ok since I needed to create users, but I don't really know what the problem was, and I'm a bit concernet about the application security in this state.

Thank you. Juan.

@syderitWhat you  did is better like that as ad-min you  don't   need to  enter password all the time, don't worry about this because if another  users is  not in the admin group he should not be able  to access the administrative function.

Best!
