I'd like to improve visibility of what appears in the Jira audit logs...

At the moment I need to visit the audit logs to see what groups have been created, who added what users to those groups, what projects were created, etc.  It'd be nice if I can redirect and, potentially filter by event types, those messages to another communications channel such as email or, better yet, a Slack channel.

Is there support for this, either natively or through an add-on?  I couldn't find a cloud add-on in the Atlassian Marketplace, but perhaps I missed one.

Unfortunately I don't know of any in or out of box solutions for your request.

I took a look over at https://jira.atlassian.com/secure/Dashboard.jspa and searched for feature requests regarding the audit log. I saw one similar style request for Confluence Cloud and Server.

I dont see anything specifically requesting what you are wanting and I think a slack integration/filtering is a great idea. I would head over there and make a feature request for it. I also recommend getting as many people to vote on the request. It helps get Atlassian's attention on the matter.
