I deleted a project and want to use its abreviation. How?

How do I delete a project in such a way that I can use its abbreviation for another project?

Answer accepted

Once you delete that Project completely, you can use the Project key again. Since Jira Cloud now has a Trash feature, delete the project permanently by navigating to Jira Settings > Projects > Trash once that is done, you can reuse a Project key again.
