I do not see the independent tasks in the Backlogs

Hello Experts

Greetings !!

I am little new to working in JIRA and I have a situation now.

I am handling JIRA board for multiple projects and their respective Kanban's.

In one of the projects, there is need to create an independent task(without associating this with user stories). I created them by "Create Issue" Option in Backlog, however when I see them in board they do not appear in the list of backlogs, though they exist independently.

I have checked their component which is rightly tagged, however my problem is that they are not appearing on the Backlog board in JIRA.

Need to know if this is possible. My suspicion was if only User Stories are visible in Backlog Boards. Reason for this is while I am trying to create an issue with the above mentioned option, it gives only User Story as type of issue to be created. Although, I can change that issue type to task when I open the Story created in the Story pan.

Any information on this line will be great help. Thanks very much in advance.
