Hi,

I don't see a 'Permissions' setting under my Project to use a permission scheme I've set up.

From JIRA instructions online you go to Your Project > Settings > Permissions

But on my test instance of JIRA I see My Project > Project Settings and no Permissions option at all?

Are the instructions out of date? Or has it been moved somewhere else?

The project described in the instructions is a Jira Busness/Software project, the one you have is a Jira Service Desk project. Service Desk projects work a bit different then Jira Business/Software, and do not have permission scheme (it uses a standard permission scheme and can only be controlled based on your role in the project).

Hey Mikhael,

Thanks for that.

I just created a project using the 'Classic Tempalte' option and the 'permissions' option is present whereas if I was to create a project using the normal option then I don't get that option.

It all depends on what template you are using. If you use one of the business templates or software templates under Classic projects you have the option to change the permission scheme. If you create a Jira Service Desk project or a next-gen project you do not have that option.
