I get the following error when creating a subtask "Please Indicate a Team"

Steps

1. Select user story
2. Click Create Subtask
3. Type development in "what needs to be done field"
4. Click create
5. Window for 'Field Tab' pops up
6. Click create and I get the error message "Please Indicate a Team"

Welcome to the community.

That sounds to me like the workflow for your Subtask issue creation has been customized to execute some validation to check for a value in a field possibly named "Team". 

You will need to consult with the Project Administrator for your project, and possibly with the Jira Administrators for your instance.

Since this is a community of users for our own Jira instances, we don't have privileges to connect to the Jira instance you're using to do any investigation.

The field scheme may also have Team as required, but the Team field not included on the Create Screen scheme.

As per Trudy's reply, you will need to contact the administrators for your instance and have them confirm what is incorrectly configured.
