I has SQL 2008 R2 which is used for TFS 2010. Can I use the same SQL 2008 for Jira?

Yes MS-SQL 2008 is compatible with JIRA. In addition to that, please take a look on JIRA Supported Platforms page below. It describes all platforms that are compatible with JIRA. Hope it helps!
