We’re not entirely sure what the issue is that you’re running into. We can assume that you’re having an issue with MySQL UTF8 collation with Jira due to Emojis. With this said, there is a KB which walks you through how to work around this issue within MySQL. You may find this KB at Emojis and Special Characters for Jira with MySQL.

If this is not the issue you’re running into, please let us know any errors or events which you’re seeing within Jira.
