These steps need to be executed by a Jira Administrator.

Create a new Field Configuration from "Bug Ticket Field Configuration"

  1. Click the gear icon (near your avatar) and select Issues
  2. n the navigation pane click on Field Configurations.
  3. Find the Field Configuration named "Bug Ticket Field Configuration"
  4. Click the Copy option displayed to the right of that scheme name.
  5. Enter a name for the new field configuration scheme (i.e. SUFS Bug Ticket Field Configuration) and click Copy
  6. Find the new Field Configuration you just created and click Configure.
  7. Make the modifications you need to required fields for the SUSF project

Rename the original Field Configuration Scheme

  1. In the navigation pane on the left click on Field Configuration Schemes
  2. Find the SUFS Field Configuration Scheme
  3. Since it is the SUFS project that will need a new scheme I recommend that you change the name of the original scheme.
    1. Click the Edit option displayed to the right of that scheme name.
    2. Enter a new name for the original scheme
    3. Click Update

Create a new Field Configuration Scheme

  1. Find the original scheme again with its new name.
  2. Click the Copy option displayed to the right of that scheme name.
  3. Enter a name for the new field configuration scheme (i.e. SUFS Field Configuration Scheme) and click Copy

Swap the Field Configuration into the new Field Configuration Scheme

  1. Find the new Field Configuration Scheme you just created and click the Configuration option displayed to the right of the scheme name.
  2. Find the line item there where the Bug issue type is associated to the Bug Ticket Field Configuration.
  3. Click the Delete option displayed to the right for that line item
  4. If there is a line item for Bug Sub Task, do the same for it.
  5. Click the button labeled "Associate an issue type with a field configuration"
  6. Set the Issue Type field to Bug and set Field Configuration to the new Field Configuration you created.
  7. Repeat that for the Bug Sub Task issue type

Associate the new Field Configuration Scheme with the project.

  1. Navigate to the SUFS project
  2. In the navigation pane click on Project Settings
  3. In the navigation pane click on Issues, then Fields
  4. Click on the button labeled Actions and select "Use a different scheme"
  5. Select the new Field Configuration Scheme you created and select Associate
