I've disconnected a status within a workflow, but why can i not delete it entirely?

I need to delete a status from a workflow.

I've disconnected it

But now it is floating around in my workflow and it won't allow me to delete it.

Why? How?

Any feedback, tip and pointers will be gladly appreciated.

HI @NTNT ,

First of all, copy the existing workflow so you can work from a separate draft.

Then, delete the floating status.

Next, associate the workflow with the designated issue type(s) in the Workflow Scheme.

When saving, you will be asked to map any issues that still have the removed status to a new status.
