I would like to have a jql for issue types included in sprint before it starts

Begoña del Rio November 6, 2024

Hello

I would like to create an advanced JQL to filter topics included in a sprint before it starts in order to trace the commitment given by team during sprint planning event.

I know that I can use labels but I want to avoid manual work.

The options that I've found are related with issue creation but not with included in sprint before it starts.

Could you help me?

Thanks

Hi @Begoña del Rio ,

Hm do you mean the committed issues when sprint is starting or before going into sprint planning in which the team decides what's going into the sprint?

sprint in futureSprints() would give you the issues that are added to a sprint but the sprint is not started yet, but as soon as it starts then the JQL will not catch the tickets.

Have you looked at any of the standard reporting around sprints? for example the status report or the velocity report will show the commitment and how the work completed is related to the team commitment.

Go project menue > Reports to check them out

all the best

Hi

Thanks for your answer

It is about tickets on sprint when it starts to analyze focus on prios given or if a new ones have happen and no reprio has been made.

The standard reporting is not giving me this info because I need to measure the commitment accuracy given on sprint planning i.e. if team has commited about 89 SP related to prios given I want to know if those 89 have been made or not. I can have figures about the have made 120 but maybe not related with commitment given on sprint planning.

Info that I found is related with started SP and final SP and I didn't find an option to know if they did what it was promised during sprint planning (and when sprint starts) or they did a different activity.

Hi,

I think I know what you're after. The sprint report will list all issues going in to sprint (ie "prioritised")

and then split these prioritised issues by

- completed

- not completed

- removed from sprint

Then as an addition you will get the asterix which displays the issues that have been added to sprint after (= they did a different activity)

Hi

Thanks for your reply

Yes I know this option but I am looking for a jql query to create my own filters and follow up topics.

Do you have any option about this?

Thanks a lot
