I would like to have the Comment field on the create Jira issue screen

MSDE July 26, 2017

I have seen this workaround ( https://community.atlassian.com/t5/JIRA-questions/Comment-field-create-issue-screen-transition/qaq-p/196152  )

and have added a field called "Add Comment" and then tried to create a post function which will move the contents of the "Add Comment" field to the standard Comment file HOWEVER I do not see the standard Comment field in the Destination Field of the "Copy Value From other Field" post function.

We are using v 6.4.14

Could you elaborate on why you want the comment field on the initial create screen? We may be able to offer other workarounds more if we know the goal.

Quite simply, it is the user's request.  As the workaround states, the user may wish to add more information than is in the description.

Is the standard Comment field in the Destination Field of the Post Function "Copy Value From Other Field" post function?

Comments are not a field. That's why the post function won't do what you want.

If you have ScriptRunner you can check out https://community.atlassian.com/t5/JIRA-questions/Groovy-post-function-create-add-comment-with-custom-field-value/qaq-p/305477

Or I think https://marketplace.atlassian.com/plugins/com.fca.jira.plugins.workflowToolbox.workflow-toolbox/server/overview may also be able to do it
