I wanted to use the mention function as a group, so I created a group and added the members. However, when I tried to call the group with mention function in the issue, it was not called.

There isn't an option to mention groups but you can use teams in cloud.

It seems that this is not possible with Jira currently, but there is a feature request to mention groups in Jira and you can vote for it here:
