IIS - Integrating or reverse proxy

Hello,

I've found two different IIS related documentation articles, and I was wondering of someone could tell me what the difference was or why you would do one over the other?

 I read them both a couple times and my first thought is if you already have IIS running in your environment Integrating JIRA applications with IIS is the more detailed and complete of the two in regards to JIRA with IIS specifically calls out JIRA and nothing else: 

This page describes how to configure Microsoft's IIS web server and JIRA such that IIS forwards requests on to JIRA, and responses back to the user.

Proxying Atlassian server applications with Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) appears to be more comprehensive in it's instructions:

The instructions on this page apply to the following Atlassian server applications:

• JIRA server applications (JIRA Software Server, JIRA Core, JIRA Service Desk)
  

• Confluence Server

• Bamboo Server
  

• Bitbucket Server

• FishEye

• Crucible

• Crowd

There are definitely steps in Integrating JIRA with IIS that are not in Proxying Atlassian server applications with Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) so that is another consideration.  Hopefully that helps.
