If I put 'ctrl' to create a sub-task, the live fields does not work

If I put 'ctrl' to create a sub-task, the live fields does not work. Anyone knows why?

As far as I know there is no direct shortcut to create sub-task but you can press the "." key to get list of operations and select create sub-task.
