We are using the connections from Azure DevOps/Repos to JIRA. There, mentioned JIRA-issues ids are used to reference Commits, Branches, Pull-request, etc. to JIRA-issues.
The references are always created for all JIRA-issues mentioned in a comment of a pull request. This is not always desirable. Is there a way to have some mentioned JIRA ids ignored? e.g. by adding escape character sequences or similar?
Hi @benjamin.leiberI'm the community manager at Exalate.
By default, Jira will link any issue key that appears in commits or pull request comments. Sadly, there’s no simple way to ignore or “escape” specific issue keys.
Some things you can try:
Avoid putting extra Jira issue keys in comments if they don’t need to be linked.
Use a clear naming style for commits or branches, and try to mention only the issue you want linked.
If you are using an integration app, check if it gives you options to filter or control what gets linked.
With Exalate, you can create sync rules and decide what should or shouldn't be shared between Jira and Azure DevOps. That helps avoid confusion.

No, the only option is not not specify these in the comment or pull request.
