Import Options for Single Choice Field from Excel

Razmik Mikayelyan February 11, 2022

I have 700+ options for a custom field in excel, can you suggest any scriptrunner option or something else so that I would not type these options manually, but import them from a file

Another option would be to use the app External Data for Jira Fields. One of the main features is the synchronisation of field options from an external data source.

You can use a fixed CSV file as a data source and import you data that way. In case the excel list changes in the future you have an easy way to resync the data without much effort.

I hope this helps,

Thomas

ScriptRunner has a built-in script called something like "Import custom field options" - you would just need to select the field, the context, and then copy the values over to a text prompt and it will create those options.

Hello @Razmik Mikayelyan ,

You can achieve that by doing a csv import of issues in Jira which includes all of your field values, and selecting the option for adding the unknown values at the existing ones.

Let me know if it helps,

Guilhem
