Import from Trello to Jira puts all in the backlog

I'm moving my team from Trello into Jira to start managing sprints. When I import our current trello board using: JIRA home screen > Settings > System > External System Import > Trello, it imports everything nicely until I open a backlog. 

I'd like for the imported stories to remain in the columns that they are in  on the board and still open a backlog. But when I open the backlog, all of my stories jump from my board into the backlog. Is there any way to avoid this? I have a whole separate Trello board that I need to move to our backlog.
