Import issues: Custom fields for importing issue as Story

Meghana_H December 20, 2019

As a user, I would like to see "Issue ID" in "Story" while creating the issue. Also I would like to have field "Main Domain", "Sub domain" etc. While mapping from csv to jira field, I am unable to see "Issue ID", and also I can see only map "components" and "Labels". But I need the header like "Main Domain", "Sub domain" etc. Let me know if there possibility to create such customized fields while mapping or importing issues.

You cannot get this.  When creating an issue, you cannot know what the issue id that will be allocated to it, because you can't know until the issue goes through the creation process.

Issue IDs cannot be directly set during import either.  Jira will create the first line of the import with the next free number in the project, the second with the next one and so-on.

Indirectly, you can set them - if you import them from a file that is in the right order, possibly with dummy lines in it if you need "holes" in the numbers.

For your domain fields, it sounds like they have not been created or configured in the target project yet.  You'll need to get them added, then you'll be able to map them.
