What's the best way to import a field containing HTML data into JIRA?

Thank you for reaching out to Atlassian Community!

When it comes to importing fields with HTML data, it won’t convert to Markdown which is what the editor on Description/Comments supports.

There are feature requests suggesting improvements for that:

• Support adding HTML links to issue fields in the new issue view
• Convert HTML to Atlassian markup while creating and updating issues
• Convert html tags to markup during import process
• Allow HTML/Rich text formating in tickets created/commented through email
