Hello, a user on our team discovered an issue while importing CSVs to JIRA. They import stories and bugs to scrum projects. He noticed that the mapping screen from CSV to JIRA field states that the Priority field "the value priority is invalid" and we didn't remove this field. He didn't experience that in the past and noticed it a few weeks ago. What could have caused this error message all of a sudden
Hi Emily,
I tried to recreate this problem in my own Jira Cloud site, but so far I have not been successful. Could you share with us some more details about your import settings here, such as what character is used for delimiting, character encoding of the file, etc?
It's strange that the example in your priority field looks to be a value of 'Medium, 1255' I would expect just a name value like Low, Medium, High, etc. But even when I tried to include a single value like 'Low 1234' as a single value, I still did not get an error in my Jira Cloud trying to import this value instead when using the External CSV import tool, My instance created a new priority name of 'Low 1234'.
When I tried to recreate with the Create issues from CSV tool instead of the external importer, the issue with that value defaulted to a medium priority instead.
Sometimes seems amiss here, but I'm not sure if it's your file or your Jira Cloud site, or some combination of both of these.
Since you are a Jira Cloud site admin, you could also raise a support request with our Cloud support team about this problem. That might be a better route in some cases if you don't want to publicly share the details of your CSV file here in Community, I would completely understand. You can do this by going to https://support.atlassian.com/contact and then select technical issue, Jira, Cloud, and then enter in the URL of your Cloud site.
Regards,
Andy
