In Jira Server is it possible to add a button to the Dashboard view next to the "Add Gadget" button?

I would like to have a button on the Dashboard view, and I would like to have the ability to add more buttons. The only option I can see is to add a JavaScript code to search for the class in HTML and add it using JQuery.
