In Process Workflow - multiple (optional) steps

Jeffrey Kurtz March 1, 2012

Hey there! I'm fairly new to managing Jira, so my apologies if this has been asked before.

I've set up a number of issue types (bug, enhancement, story, task, etc.). The bug type can use the default Jira workflow, but with the others, I'd like to have additional statuses when they're in process.

E.g.: Ready for design, In design, Ready for dev, in Dev, etc.

I'd also like to be able to use and visualize these buckets in GreenHopper.

Can anyone point me in the right direction as to setting this up? Do I need to create a new workflow with all of those steps (in addition to the default ones, which I want), then associate it with the appropriate issue types?

Thanks!

Yes, you answered your question yourself. You need to create a workflow that matches your steps. And for the greenhopper, you can customize the Taskboard and add additional columns and map the new statuses that you create to appropriate colums to visualize the items.
