Morning.

I noticed  there seems to be a bug within all our workflows.

In Progress removed from all Workflow and replaced by Wont Do for all workflows.

There a separate workflows for each project but all projects seems to be affected?

is there a bug in jira software projects at the moment?

Hi there!
From what you mentioned, it sounds like a Jira Administrator renamed the "In Progress" status to "Won’t Do." Because of this change, the new name is now showing up in all workflows where the original "In Progress" status was used.

Ideally, instead of renaming the existing status, the admin should have removed "In Progress" from the specific workflow and added a new status called "Won’t Do."

To fix the issue, the status currently named "Won’t Do" should be renamed back to "In Progress." This will make sure it appears correctly in all workflows where it was previously used.

Let me know if you need help with the steps!

Hi @Sian Snook,

If In Progress is a status, you might be witnessing one of the biggest mistakes to avoid as a Jira Admin: renaming an existing status.

Statuses are a central component in Jira. Renaming a status impacts every single workflow where that status is being used. Even if the rename happens from within a separate workflow.

If this is what happened in your instance, rename the Won't Do status back to in progress to restore the situation to its previous state. And never rename statuses again 😅

Hope this helps!
