I'm more looking for some intellectual and emotional support. We have recently trialed using Jira advanced tier to allow us to do:
- Custom heirarchy so we can have an initiative sitting above epics
- Produce roadmaps across multiple projects
We've found that Plans is pretty mid and we're using roadmunk instead. I intend to downgrade our jira bill back to the basic tier because as far as I'm concerned all of this heirarchy visualisation lives solely within Plans. If an epic has a parent link to an initiative and that data is sync'd to Roadmunk then the heirarchy doesn't matter.
Does that check out to anyone else or do you think a downgrade would impact that relationship between an epic and its parent?
As far as I'm aware that heirarchy is only ever referrenced in the Plans functionality. The parent link field is not an advanced tier feature but just a field that Plans uses to identify the relationship.
I'd just turn it off and see what happens but that is a bit cowboy for my liking.
Hi William,
There's a pretty good chance that you will lose the Parent Link capability if you downgrade. This is what it looks like in my non-Premium instance.
