Inserting user names in a comment

I sometimes put a user name in a JIRA issue comment, for example @Mike

Can I get an email about the comment sent to user Mike's email address ?

As far as I know an email should be generated automatically...

You can also check your JIRA profile under preferences to make sure you have "My Changes" set to "Notify Me" if the notification is already set to send notifications for the Issue Commented event.

Look at the notification schema for the project if you are not receving it.
