Integrate Jira Service Management (Cloud) into Jira Software (Server) v8.20.8

Metheavy October 21, 2022

Hi

We bought the Jira Service Management Cloud (academic) standard.  We want to integrate it into our Jira Software v8.20.8 (running on a VM server).  Can someone show me the documentation to do it properly?

I also installed Jira Service Management 4.20.8 (without licence).  I'm not sure if it's the cloud version or not.  Thank you!

hi @Metheavy ,

This is Majid @ Exalate.

Can you please elaborate on what exactly are you looking to integrate between JSM and Jira Software? Is it issues or config etc.? I believe you will need a third party integration solution to fully synchronize the two Jiras. I would urge you to look at Exalate where you will be able to create customize each and every aspect of the integration.

Please feel free to book a customized demo if you would like to see the product in action.

Thanks

Majid

Hello @Metheavy

Just so I understand:

You know that your JSM Cloud license means you have a JSM site where the URL is "https://<sitename>.atlassian.net".  You want to connect the cloud site with your on-prem Jira server?

If so, You want to look at setting up application links

https://support.atlassian.com/jira-cloud-administration/docs/use-applinks-to-link-to-atlassian-products/

Look in the instructions for tunneled application links

@Metheavy hello! Did you manage to resolve the issue? Do you have a particular use case? I see Robert has already shared the link to the documentation. In case you're open to the idea of using a tool (if not using one already), I'd like to propose taking look at ZigiOps. It's a no-code integration solution that can help you establish a bi-directional connection between the two Jira instances, transfer data between them, and sync them. Fully customizable, ZigiOps can be customized to fit various use cases. Feel free to take a look at it and in case you want to know more, we can have a short call.

Regards, Diana (ZigiWave team)
