Hola @Aaron 

Try accessing the permission scheme for the project and check who may have the permission to that project.

You can create a special role for external users and assign it only to the project that you need to have visibility.

You can create the roles in Configuration -> System and there you create the role (s) for the project you need.

Thank you, I'll look into that for finer control.  I was able to solve the issue by extending support to the external user's email address domain.
