I am trying to upgrade Jira Software from 7.10 to 7.13 and the upgrade link said that we needed to upgrade the Core installer first which I did, but it doesn't make sense, because we don't have a license to Jira Core, we only bought a license for Jira Software which we have been renewing every year for the last 5 or 6 years.
Could anyone help? I am triing to get JiraCore uninstalled and then will try to reinstall just the Jira Software to see if that will get our production jira back online.
Thanks for any help direction in advance.

Software is an application that adds to Core, not a separate server.
The installers are a little confusing because they're just called Jira Core, Jira Software and Jira Service Desk - the names do not tell you that they are really Jira Core, Jira Core + Software, and Jira Core + Service Desk.
The licences are a little unclear too - I like to say that each Jira Software and Service Desk licence includes a Core licence.
So, if you're using Jira Software, you are using Core, and your Jira Software licences cover your usage of it for the users who have Software licences.
So, yes, you need to upgrade Core at this point, as Software needs a later version as a platform. But your best option is to use the docs for upgrading Software, and use the 7.13 Jira Software installer in upgrade mode, as that will deal with Core and Software at the same time.
Hello,
If you have Jira Software and you want to upgrade it, you can not just upgrade the Application. You would need to upgrade it the way it is written here:
