Is anyone using Postgres 9.6 with JIRA & Confluence?

Shirley Shorter July 24, 2018

I installed postgres 9.6 and now I see it is not listed on the installing java supported platforms page at https://confluence.atlassian.com/adminjiraserver073/supported-platforms-861253018.html  - but I think in other documentation I have seen where 9.6 is ok?  Is the documentation failing to mention the 9.6 version, or should I uninstall postgres and use 9.5 before I install JIRA?

Hi Shirley,

PostgreSQL 9.3 through 9.6 are supported on  the most recent versions of Jira and Confluence.

The article you linked is for Jira 7.3, and at that time, 9.6 was not yet supported.

Jira 7.3 will be End of Life this January, and so if you're on that version, I would encourage you to upgrade to the latest version in order to use PostgreSQL 9.6 and avoid your instance reaching End of Life status.

Let me know if you have any questions!

Shannon
