One of our projects would like the ability to add Priority: High, Medium or Low to the notification when a JIRA ticket has been created. Is this possible?

You can use it out of the box. But I do not like this solution, because it is difficult to support. I prefer to use Email This Issue or ScriptRunner plugins.
Thanks for the information. From reading post, it appears that the ability to change the template is for on premise JIRA. We are currently in the cloud. Is it possible when using the Cloud version?
