Is it possible to add a box on the Main task that shows a figure of how many sub-tasks there are?

I want to add a figure on the "Main task box"that shows how many sub-tasks there are under a main task. I want to do this on a Kanban Backlog Board. This would be so that I can see which tasks to prioritise.

I'm not aware of any field but you write one using script fields from the scriptrunner plugin
