Is it possible to add additional field in users profile in jira 4.4?

I want to add custom field that willl sore department name to all users profiles. So I can have more information about user. Is that possible in jira 4.4?

You could have a user group for department. That way when you see the groups in the profile it shows the department.

This could be very useful too for granting permissions and with the projects managing ;)
