Is it possible to connect GitHub and JIRA without uploading the repository to the JIRA instance?

I was looking at using the DVCS connector, but it appears that the repository is uploaded to the JIRA instance. Is there another way to link GitHub (specifically Git Issues) with JIRA without uploading the repository to the JIRA instance?

Hi Janna!

I'm not sure of what you meant by 'uploading the repository', as theoretically, it won't upload it to JIRA as JIRA is not a DVCS system. Anyway, the recommended way to do that is described on this document. By linking GitHub this way, JIRA will sync all the information related to commits and branches, but won't have the actual data stored in its database.

Let me know if you have any doubts on the procedure presented on the document linked above. wink

Cheers!

Joao
