Is it possible to create a story from an existing story?

Hi,

If I open an epic I have the "+" to create issues in the epic.

Is it possible to have that for an issue?

So I want to open an story and have the "+" that allows me to create issues that will be children of the first story.

Thanks in advance

Luciana

Hello Luciana

After creating a subtask in the issue, you will see "+" icon to create more subtasks.

However, I do not know the way to display it before creating the very first subtask.

If you are on Server Jira, you can stick a line into the jira config file in the home directory that forces the sub-task panel to appear (with the + link) even when there are no sub-tasks.

It would be a better tip if I could have remembered what the heck the line actually was!

Try adding this to  <jira-home>/jira-config.properties

jira.view.issue.show.quicksubtask.when.no.subtasks=true

and then restart.  The properties file might not exist, it's only created when you need to move away from the defaults.  If you don't have one, just add it.  It's plain text and should have the same ownership and permissions as all the other files in that directory.
