Is it possible to disable buttons on the left-hand navigation bar (e.g., Releases, Components)?

I would like to create a JIRA project that is incredibly minimalistic and doesn't have various sidebar buttons that users won't need to access. Here is a list of the elements I'm hoping to hide or disable for this particular project:

• Releases
• Components
• Source Code

Is there any way to do this?

Hiding should be possible by writing simple Java Script script and put this into an Announcement Banner or probably using some plugin like Script Runner (Behaviours functionality)
