Hi All,

Pretty new to Jira so I found that when editing my workflow, changing your "Done" status to "Closed" or vice versa updates every single ticket in a project and re-timestamps the resolution of the ticket to the day the updated workflow was implemented.

This has erased all of our data and reporting thus far and I'm trying to find a way to revert or disregard the timestamp of the updated workflow and somehow revert the resolution back to when the ticket was originally closed.

Anybody have suggestions or tools that could help revert this major mishap?

Thanks.

Hi @Bekah Dumaup

Could you report on resolution date instead - i.e. the date the issue was resolved.

I never sure of the purpose of Closed after Done, although it's a very common usage.. In Agile it's like a Done Done status. Alternates are Reopen if not fixed or Pending Signoff etc.

Hi @Bekah Dumaup and welcome to the Community!

Updating your workflow does indeed update the status of all tickets using that workflow. Updating your workflow again would lead to the same result and update things yet again.

Although I can imagine this is not really great when you look at past data, I would not spend too much time trying to fix that. After all, it is all closed tickets. If the update has changed your process to the desired state now, you are starting over for any new tickets with a clean slate, which probably is what you were trying to achieve in the first place.

Hope this helps!
