I have two team-managed projects, let's call them Project A and Project B. A ticket is created in Project A. After being created, I want to update the "Parent" field of this ticket to be an epic from Project B. I don't seem to be able to do this; the drop down for the "Parent" field doesn't show any other epics besides those within the same project and further, typing out the epic id from Project B results in "No Matches Found". For what it's worth, I have full admin rights to this Jira instance so there shouldn't be any permissions issues between Project A and Project B for myself.
I'm curious if this is allowed with the new "Parent" field. It seems like this used to be allowed when you had separate "Epic Link" and "Parent Link" fields.
Hi @Aaron Osterhage ,
Unfortunately, as far as I'm aware, this is not possible with two team-managed projects. They're typically intended for more siloed, individual team-focused work and not work that spans across an organization or even multiple teams.
However, this is possible with two company-managed projects. If you expect your teams will want to coordinate more in the future then I highly recommend going this route and converting to company-managed projects.
Hope this helps!
