Hi All!
We configured issue creation and commenting via email several years ago. (https://confluence.atlassian.com/adminjiraserver073/creating-issues-and-comments-from-email-861253784.html#Creatingissuesandcommentsfromemail-handytipsHandytipswithmailhandlers) Does anyone know if we can transition those issues via the same email thread?
Similarly, we embedded an issue collector into our software application and I'd like to know if we can transition those issues via the email notification from Jira.
You can do it with an Add in.
Jira Enterprise Mail Hander (JEMH) is a common on that can do this. Its a little complicated to set up but can do what you want (and a lot more)
Hi Elizabeth,
This is not currently possible. There is a similar request for JSD to allow an Approval via Email. You can see the ticket here:
https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JSDCLOUD-4349
Please vote for that issue if you would like to see that type of function in the future. Once it is there, hopefully it will move to other aspects with Emails and Jira.

Hi John,
Thank you for your response, but this is not for Jira Service Desk. After I posted my question, I was able to find additional information regarding JEMH.

Hey Elizabeth - yes, I realized it wasn't Service Desk, but just figured that the same functionality would be able to cross both types of projects if implemented.
Did you find out if JEMH can actually do that from the email?

Hi John, my apologies as I just correctly read your initial response. Yes, it would be great if Atlassian implements it into JSD and then moves it into other applications. I voted for the existing ticket for JSD. I have not fully inspected JEMH yet.
