Is sharing a Personal Scrum Board possible/sensible?

Hi all,

I have three company managed software projects and I want to see them all on one board.  I see two options:

1. Create a personal board and add all three projects to it

2. Create an 'umbrella' project and add all three projects to it.

So far I have gone with option 1 and it all works fine until I try to share it.  When I share this board via the standard Jira sharing feature none of my team can access it.  They see an error message :

"Project not found: You tried to access a project that doesn't exist or that you don't have permission to see."

So I'm wondering...even though sharing a personal board is possible it doesn't seem to actually work and that leaves me with option 2.

Anyone have any advice?

Thank you,

Andrew

Hi @Andrew_Heawood , thanks for your question.

You have to be a project admin to be able to guarantee the access to view the issues in the different projects brought together in your board. This is why people you are sharing with don't see the issues, they don't have the same project access as you do.

You could create instead a dashboard, but you might encounter the same problem if the people you want to share this information with don't have access to the underlying issues and projects.

I would recommend you speak to the project admins for the projects you want to share with people, to see if they would consider extending a view-only permission.

Hope this helps.

Cheers
