Is there a possibility to use in JIRA subcomponents without extra app?

We are using components. We see the need to have a also subcomponents. But I do not see how this can be done without a app.

Hi Alina,

As a workaround,  you can use a custom field to simulate subcomponents in Jira.

True, that is a possible workaround, but it doesn't offer the same functionality as Jira Components do (component lead, default assignee)

No, that isn't possible. Jira Components don't have a hierarchy, it's a single level.
