Is there a size limit on a filter query?

It appears that Atlassian has recently imposed a character limit on a JIRA filter query. The query size seems to be limited to 2000 characters. Once this limit is reached additional characters cannot be added.

Old queries with greater than 2000 characters still work but cannot be amended.

Is this a configurable setting that can be changed?

Hi Ian,

I'm sorry to say that this feature of longer than 2000 characters is not available in current JIRA Issue Navigator. I understand this is urgent for you and there is new feature request have been raise in Atlassian. Please see JRA-30936 for reference.

hast this issue been realeased already? Since it seems to me it still doesn't allow users to enter query's longer than 2000 characters.
