Is there a way for Kepler database child fields to update when issue is viewed?

We are using the Kepler Custom Database field add-on. I'm wondering if there is some way for the query to be re-run when an issue is viewed.

 The problem is that someone creates an issue and selects something from the database and then we have a database child field that displays some more information. If the database is updated the issue never reflects the new data... Which renders this very static and a bit misleading since the nature of databases is that they could have many writers and many readers. 

Is there a way to do this? Anyone know if Bob Swift's SQL plug in can do this?

Values in Database child fields are stored in JIRA and, as for all other customfield, the view screen return the stored values.

If you need to view the current value (after being updated directly into the database) it's better to use the datatable customfield instead of database child.
