Hi, we have to report weekly on our Epics to the PM of the company. Before Jira we had to fll in Excel sheet with the Status Deliverables, Risks, Activities Completed last week, Planned Activities for ths coming week. We want to move away from filling in the Excel sheet and have all the info in Jira. The PM wants to be able to get a snap shot each wk of the progress of the Epic. Anyone have any ideas on the est way to do this or has anyone had to do this before? Don't want to just add in alot of custom fields in the details that become like an essay as the Epic goes on. Any help would really be appreciated.
Hi,
The Links Hierarchy Structure plug-in might help.
https://marketplace.atlassian.com/1211022
It shows the full hierarchical structure for any Epic. The plug-in supports export to Excel so you can export an Epic and all its related issues (through the Epic Name which is used to build the hierachy). It also supports filter based on depth, allowing to establish how many levels include in the report (Ex: Epic -> Stories -> Techinal tasks or whatever any other dependency) and filter by other attributes (resolved, issue type, link type, etc). It exports to Excel by preserving the hierachy and in a flat table.
Or you can explore the report at real time from JIRA itself and swicth among several layouts (tree and table, mainly).
It does not support configure fileds when export, although key fields are present: issue key, type, priority, status, summary and link name.
