Is there a way to block logging work on future dates?

I observed that Jira allows future worklogs and let users log work on future dates which could be a risk to let users log work on a ticket with wrong year. We want our uses to avoid logging work on future dates and be able to log work on current or any previous date. 

So is it possible to configure the log time to prevent future dates?

Unfortunately, there is no way to prevent time to be logged in the future. We have a feature request to implement this validation here:

- Make 'date started' field in Log Work configurable

Feel free to vote and watch the suggestion to increase its priority and also receive notifications about any updates.

That been said, a work log date can be easily changed without any big problems on your reports. To search for issues that have a future work logged before access your reports, you can run the JQL query below:

worklogDate > now()

Thank you for the confirmation. I believe this is a necessary feature to avoid users to log work on future dates by mistake which is a Risk while Accounting.
