Is there a way to change issue numbers of issues already created in JIRA Software project?

I read a post from @Sameera Shaakunthala [inactive] about resetting the issue counter for a project, but I'm wondering if there's any way to change the numbers of issues that are already created within a project either from front-end or DML.

The only way to do it is with SQL (so not on Cloud), and it is strongly recommended that you do not do it.
