Is there a way to insert a line break between JQL results in list view?

My company uses Jira for many things, one of which is a tool and equipment database. One major function of this is making sure that calibrated tools are calibrated on time.

I have set up filters for someone who is in charge of this to see tools (issues) with upcoming due dates (utilizing a due date field ordered by date) and a large amount of other information.

I was asked if there is a way for me to put some sort of line break/indicator in the list view results where due date month ends and another begins (basically to group issues by month). Is this something that is possible to do? The only thing I can think to do is create an issue with empty fields and due date at the beginning/end of a month that is a relatively clear point between every two months.

I know that I can set up multiple filters, but I was hoping to do this to mimic a spreadsheet they had previously been using to manage this.

Hi @Jeremy Yehle,

We can suggest trying the app that we develop – Table Filter and Charts for Confluence.
Our macros support the Jira Issues macro, so you’ll be able to group and count your issues by dates (aggregate your data by months, for example, like you do it in Excel). The Pivot Table macro may help you with the case.

And here are other examples of different calculations and visualizations based on the Jira Issues macro.

If you are not familiar with the app, we’ll be happy to arrange a live demo for you – please book a suitable time slot.

Hi @Jeremy Yehle welcome to the community!  I'm certainly not an expert with JQL, but as I understand it, similar to SQL, JQL is designed to give you the data, and isn't a Report Writer (like we would expect).  I would say most people in this situation export the JQL Data into a CSV file and dump it into Excel for report formatting or use another third party tool for that type of data.

Personally, I have had luck using the Jira Macro in Confluence and then publishing that page.  That might be another option, but again, I'm certainly not an expert.

Hope that helps
