Is there a way to monitor bug churn?

Any ideas if I can monitor how many times a bug goes around before its fixed (churn) .e.g.

resolved > rejected > resolved > rejected > resolved > closed

would = 3

Ideally there would be a custom field and the value would appear read only for all bugs

You can probably use something like the Transitions tab in the JIRA Suite Utilities Add-On (https://marketplace.atlassian.com/plugins/com.googlecode.jira-suite-utilities)

Hi Pedro i use this but each bug transition has to manually counted. I want to be able to filter on bugs where churn > 0 OR display a graph of churn vs. time etc.Hence I need an automatically calculated value in a custom field unless I am missing something? Nick
